The suspect in the robbery of the BB&T bank at 100 Dana Road in Hendersonville has been identified as the so-called "Bad Wig Bandit," who was wanted in three Charlotte area bank robberies before the bank heist here.
Hendersonville Police, in collaboration with the FBI, confirmed the identity, the city said in a news release. The man, who is about 5-4, was wearing a shoulder-length black wig and black puffy jacket when he entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect retrieved the note and an undisclosed amount of money, exited the front of the building and left in an unknown direction. He is also suspected in robberies of banks in Huntersville on Dec. 13, Belmont and Gastonia, both on Jan. 7.
Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is asked to contact Detective Eric LaRowe with the Hendersonville Police Department at (828) 697-3025.
