Back The Blue NC, Inc. will donate $10,000 to the children of fallen Deputy Sheriff Ryan Hendrix, who died in the line of duty.
“Tragically, on September 10th of this year, Deputy Ryan Hendrix of the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, NC, made the ultimate sacrifice and gave his all when he was shot and killed responding to a call on-duty," Back The Blue NC CEO and founder Lindsay LiCausi said. "Not only does Deputy Hendrix leave behind his fiancée and two young children, but his family, friends, and a mourning community. In order to help Deputy Hendrix's surviving children, we at Back The Blue NC have worked hard to raise funds through sales at our rallies and donations made by the community. In total, $10,000 was raised for his children. It is a mere show of giving compared to what Deputy Hendrix sacrificed for his community and will never heal the pain left behind for his children, but we hope it will help provide them with some financial peace of mind. As long as we have our brave men and women of law enforcement, we will always stand ready to give back to those willing to give their all.”
Back The Blue NC will present the check at noon Tuesday to Ryan Hendrix’s parents, Donald and Heidi Hendrix, along with Major Frank Stout and Sheriff Lowell Griffin at the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Back The Blue NC was founded on July 6 of this year with the main goal of uniting the North Carolina community of law enforcement and their family, friends and supporters in resppnse to the 'Defund the Police' movement. Because of the ongoing coronavirus and its restrictions Back The Blue NC was only able to hold five events, which through the sale of tee shirts, bracelets and challenge coins and social media raised $10,000.
Back The Blue NC, Inc. is a non-profit 501-C3 organization that operates with an all-volunteer staff with 100 percent of all proceeds and donations going back to the law enforcement community.
