Cycling time trial set in Etowah

ETOWAH — The second time trial in the Lung Buster Time Trial Series in Etowah will take place Thursday evening.

The race is expected to draw youth cyclists, beginner and intermediate level riders, elites and pro cyclists from near and far who will test their fitness along the fast, flat 20k course through the beautiful western North Carolina landscape. Registration is at Cummings Cove and the race is on River Road.

Cyclists and triathletes of all abilities are invited. Don't have a time trial bike? No problem, the event has a Merckx/Standard division, which allows you to use your road bike. Time trials are a safe way for experienced and recreational cyclists to measure their fitness level and progress. It's also a great way for triathletes to sharpen their bike skills. If you enjoy riding your bike and want to set your own personal record, give a time trial a try!

Registration Details: Cost: $20 individual race entry fee. Register online at www.imathlete.com for preferred starting spots USAC annual or 1 day license required & are available on site. On-site registration will be available starting at 5 pm on event day and closes promptly at 6 pm, first rider starts at  6:15 p.m. Minors must have a parent or guardian with them when registering to sign the release form.

Riders will go out in 1 minute intervals by order of registration. Start times assigned on first to register basis and special requests only available through online registration. Pre-registered riders will receive their start times prior to the race posted on the Lung Buster Time Trial Series Facebook page on Wednesday evening.
