The Company Stores, a six-member "Hill Hop" band that blends elements of Southern music, headlines Rhythm & Brews stage at 7 tonight downtown.
Hailing from Charleston, West Virginia, the band plays a blend of Appalachian folk, Delta Blues, Rock, Jam Band and Hip Hop layered in its own modern styles and rhythms.
“In a coal town, the Company Store had a little bit of everything. I think that sums the band up pretty well,” singer Casey Litz says. Guitarist and song writer Bobby Wynn kicks off the evening at 5 with folk-based songs followed by Daniel Sage at 6.
Rhythm & Brews, on South Main Street between Allen and Caswell streets, and features local foods, homemade ice cream, craft beer, hard cider and wine plus a Kid’s Zone. Admission is free.
