A snow that coated roads Tuesday created potentially hazardous conditions that called for a two-hour delay for Henderson County schools, school leaders announced. The later start will allow crews the opportunity to check roads in the morning to determine if any additional schedule adjustments are necessary.
"It will also allow the morning commute to take place in daylight for improved visibility for our buses and student drivers," superintendent Mark Garrett said in an announcement to families. "Please remember that buses will arrive approximately two hours later than usual and will not travel on any roads that may be slick. All morning programs, including child care services and breakfast, will also follow the two-hour delay schedule."
